Belkin has a new $99.99 Charging Grip for the Switch 2 that attaches a 10,000mAh battery to the back of Nintendo's handheld and replaces the standard Joy-Con handles with nonslip alternatives.
The magnetic battery pack sticks to the rear of the Switch 2 and is rated for three to four extra hours of playtime, depending on what you're running. The grip itself gives the Joy-Con controllers more substantial, nonslip handles designed to reduce fatigue on longer sessions. It ships now in black, lilac, and olive green. Worth flagging: the magnets are for attachment only, as the Switch 2 does not support magnetic charging natively, so the battery routes power through the console's standard port.
Nintendo has not announced its own extended-battery grip for the Switch 2, which leaves room for exactly this kind of third-party product. A $99.99 grip is a direct argument that the console's base battery life is a real enough problem that owners will pay to extend it.
At that price, Belkin is asking you to spend roughly what a replacement Joy-Con pair costs, on a battery pack that also happens to improve your grip. Whether that math works depends almost entirely on how far you stray from an outlet.
