EA has formalized what was already baked into its sports games: selling ad space, at scale, to brands.
The company launched EA Advertising, a platform that lets brands buy dynamic, real-time placements inside titles including Madden NFL, EA SPORTS FC, and EA SPORTS College Football. Ads surface through stadium signage, digital boards, scoreboards, and broadcast-style overlays — formats designed to blend into the visual grammar of televised sport. EA is pitching advertisers on a claimed audience of more than 120 million players, which is the number doing the real selling here.
Sports games have carried stadium ads for decades, but making that inventory programmable and measurable turns cosmetic wallpaper into an actual media product. For brands trying to reach younger audiences who have largely abandoned linear TV, a captive gaming crowd is a plausible substitute — and EA controls both the content and the delivery pipe.
EA describes the placements as "natural" integrations that fit seamlessly into gameplay. That is, of course, what every ad platform says before the ads get noticeably less seamless.
