Apple's AirPods settings menu in iOS 27 gets its first real reorganization in years.
The first iOS 27 developer beta, seeded this week, replaces the old scrolling list with a more structured layout. A new volume slider now sits beneath the Listening Mode toggles. Previously scattered options are grouped under four labeled sections with dedicated icons: Accessibility, Audio & Routing, Hearing Health, and Controls & Gestures. Battery, Privacy, and Find My each get their own menus. The redesign extends to System Settings in macOS 27 Golden Gate; on both platforms, the menu still only appears when AirPods are actively paired.
AirPods have accumulated a lot of settings over the past few years as Apple layered in noise cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Live Translation, and Hearing Health features. Apple apparently never went back to organize the pile. The old menu had turned into a scroll-until-you-find-it experience, and this redesign is a belated acknowledgment of that rather than a headline feature.
A public beta is due next month, with general release in the fall. Until then, most AirPods owners are still scrolling.
