Samsung's Odyssey G9 is selling for less than it ever has — and Prime Day hasn't even started yet.
Amazon has cut the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 (G95C) curved gaming monitor to $664.99, down from $999.99. That's a 34% discount and the lowest price tracked on this model. The pre-Prime Day discounting has been rolling since early June, and this is one of the more substantial drops so far. Note the fine print: the discounted listing ships with a DisplayPort cable only — if you want HDMI included, the bundle price jumps to $1,234.99.
The G9's pitch is straightforward: a 49-inch, 32:9 panel with a 1000R curve is meant to replace a dual-monitor setup without the center bezel breaking up the image. At 240Hz and 1ms response time with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, the specs are competitive for high-refresh gaming. At $665, the math gets easier to justify compared to buying two decent 27-inch monitors.
The open question is whether waiting another week makes sense. Amazon has telegraphed that deeper cuts are coming once Prime Day officially begins — so if this is already a record low, the floor may not be much further down.
